Proverbs 12
Verse 3
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the 1 root of the righteous shall not be moved.
They are so grounded in the favour of God, that their root will prosper continually.
Verse 6
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall 1 deliver them.
As their conscience is upright, so will they be able to speak for themselves against their accusers.
Verse 9
He that is despised, 1 and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and is destitute of bread.
The poor man that is contemned and yet lives of his own travail.
Verse 10
A righteous man 1 regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Is merciful, even to the very beast who does him service.
Verse 12
The wicked desireth the 1 net of evil men: but the 2 root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
Continually imagines ways to harm others.
Meaning, their heart within, which is upright, and does good to all.
Verse 15
The way of a fool is 1 right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth to counsel is wise.
He stands in his own conceit, and condemns all others in respect to himself.

Who bridles his affections.
Verse 18
There is that speaketh like the piercings of 1 a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
Which seek nothing more then to provoke others to anger.
Verse 25
Heaviness in the heart of man weigheth it down: but a 1 good word maketh it glad.
That is, words of comfort, or a cheerful mind which is declared by his words, rejoices a man, as a covetous mind kills him.
Verse 26
The righteous 1 is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
That is, more liberal in giving.
Verse 27
The slothful man roasteth not that which he 1 took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
Although he gets much by unlawful means, yet he will not spend it on himself.
