Psalm 126
Introduction
Verses 1–3
The Deliverance from Captivity. A song of degrees. 1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
Verses 4–6
These verses look forward to the mercies that were yet wanted. Those that had come out of captivity were still in distress, even in their own land , and many yet remained in Babylon; and therefore they rejoiced with trembling, and bore upon their hearts the grievances that were yet to be redressed.
