Psalm 65
Introduction
Verses 1–5
The Praises of Zion; Motives for Devout. To the chief musician. A psalm and song of David. 1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. 2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
Verses 6–13
That we may be the more affected with the wonderful condescensions of the God of grace, it is of use to observe his power and sovereignty as the God of nature, the riches and bounty of his providential kingdom. I. He establishes the earth and it abides, Ps. 119:90.
In this psalm we are directed to give to God the glory of his power and goodness, which appear, I. In the kingdom of grace , hearing prayer , pardoning sin , satisfying the souls of the people , protecting and supporting them, Ps. 65:5. II.
